diaphragm pump parts
Older diaphragm pump parts can be difficult to find and repair kits or overhauls even trickier. However, a few steps can help you identify the components you need to get your pump up and running again. Replacement diaphragms are the easiest to match. We come across Mud Sucker, Home Lite, Mud Hog, AMT, Tsurumi, Multiquip, Wacker and Honda diaphragm pumps all the time that we can match. Repair kits like pump rods, covers, flapper valves and gaskets might be a bit tougher.
The first step is to find the nameplate on your diaphragm pump. This is typically a steel or aluminum panel on the pump body with the manufacturers name, model number, serial number and motor rating. When you call in, make sure you have this information handy as it tends to speed up the process with your phone support representative.
Next, check to see if you have the pump owners manual. If you have purchased the pump used, you might have not received one (but should have). The manual will help you identify what components you need for your pump. Specifically, look for an exploded view drawing or a schematic that shows all the components for your pump.
Finally, do a critical assessment of your pump. It tends to be a lot more effective and cheaper if you buy a pump repair kit rather than one or two individual components. You don’t want to buy just a diaphragm and then realize that the flappers needed replacing too. And, If the cost to repair your pump simply isn’t worth it, consider a pump exchange program. Some manufacturers are having swap your pump promotions that allow you to trade in your old diaphragm pump for a new one and save money along the way. Plunger Pump With Guided Plunger
A new retrofit package for plunger pumps has become increasingly popular over the last few months at sewage treatment plants. It’s called the guided plunger assembly and its popular because we can retrofit any make of plunger pump to include this time and budget saving solution. Wastecorp engineers our new plunger pumps with this option, but it’s the first time we can offer this package for any pump model going as far back as the 1970’s.
As the name implies, this system guides the plunger in a more stable motion through the entire stroke using a size specific guide bar and bearing package for your pump model. This prevents plunger slide and reduces side load. But the real secret of this system is in our redesigned roller bearing system that last up to 200 times longer than conventional guide shoes. Tolerances are set to Wastecorp’s 0.0015” nom. No lubrication is required which helps to extend plunger and packing life. A size specific assembly is engineered for over 200 makes and models.
To get more information on the guided plunger assembly, find the make and model of your plunger pump (the serial and spec numbers help too) and contact a technical support representative at 1-888-829-2783 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Last year, Wastecorp fielded dozens of calls and e-mails from RV owners asking about an easier way to empty black water (from toilets) and grey water from wash basins and kitchen sinks. The general problem with emptying these tanks is that hoses and plastic connectors tend to leak making for a potentially unsanitary pump out environment not to mention the yuck factor. We went to work over the winter and designed the new universal twist-on RV adapter. This universal sewer adapter is ideal for leak free and quick pump outs with no mess. The adapter is specifically designed to connect to all Valterra/Grentec/Anonda and Thetford lug systems. The 2″ NPT x 4 point Bayonet hook design easily fits most sewer connections. Like all of our pump accessories the universal sewer adapter is designed to last a lifetime. Thanks to all of our recreational staff for designing this cool new attachment (many of our staff are getting ready to try it themselves). Happy motoring this season and make every pump out a safe one.
