Disasters like oil spills, floods, hurricanes and overflowing sewers can happen at any time, that’s why Wastecorp has launched the new MS-HW-Recovery™, a new pump out plus fresh water distribution system. Government disaster management agencies and contractors can now contain waste water, slurry, oil and provide wash down services with one unit. Continue reading
When it comes time to update your wastewater pump system especially for mobile applications you should know your options. There are a range of products available with components designed for your specific application. The photo you see left was sent by a multinational mining company who contacted Wastecorp to design a new fleet system to collect used machine oil and wastewater from various mining sites. The previous pump systems had been in service for over 30 years and the customer required an updated pump out system with added durability and pumping power. The customer also had height restrictions for pumping in a variety of mining facilities including shafts and waste ponds.
Personal waste containment systems or “honey wagons” as they are sometimes called in the pump industry have come along way in just the last few years. In response to the soaring costs of vac truck services, everyone from those needing septic pumping, waste oil pumping and used vegetable oil transfer have found an economical alternative in owning a personal waste containment systems. Lance from Medina, TX highlights many of the inquiries we get for such applications:
“We have about 30 sites in an oilfield with septic systems plus oil slurry residuals to pump. We no longer wish to use our local vac truck services as the costs have become prohibitive and we have an EPA approved dumpsite close to the site. Please provide a proposal on a suitable waste containment system for our needs as well as a pump that can handle thicker liquids.” Thank you – Lance M. Medina, Texas
Well Lance, In the video above one of Wastecorp’s pump experts talks about an ideal system for industrial waste containment, the HW-1600. This includes a 1635 gallon tank and a corrosion resistant galvanized deck and trailer frame. The benefit here is that if you are storing your pump system outside or frequently use it in inclement weather, you will reduce chances for corrosion. The best part is the pumps you can select include patented Mud Sucker Diaphragm pump technology. Mud Sucker’s are available in several connection sizes and in solids handling models for thicker oil slurries and normal duty flapper valve models. Generally, a personal waste containment system will pay for itself within a calendar year when compared to using a vac truck service. Obviously this depends on the amount of pump outs you do and what size you select, but overall, the personal waste containment system is an excellent investment. Honey wagon waste containment systems are used across a wide range of industries and have endless application uses. Waste containment systems are used to pump out wastewater, oil or septic waste from storage tanks, lagoons, barrels and more. The national gas industry requires honey wagons as well. From natural gas well process uses, wastewater containment and facilities management, portable waste containment systems play a valuable role in collecting wastewater and safely transporting is to an environmentally responsible dump station. With the advent of fracking, Continue reading
Getting the most of your honey wagon pump out system will help you maximize your day-to-day productivity. In the video above you will see how to use the honey wagon to pump both into and out of the tank with the same pump. You will also see how easy it is to change the direction of flow when needed.
To review the definition of “what is a honey wagon”; this is a system designed to pump out fluids into a holding tank or a tote. fluids can include septic waste from portable toilets, RV grey and black water, bilge waste and waste oil, waste hydraulic oil, waste vegetable oil (WVO) and more. Honey wagons are sold to campgrounds, government agencies like the military, Dept. of Parks and Recreation, Wastewater treatment facilities, public works agencies, the Department of Transportation (DOT), Marinas, construction companies and all kinds of industrial applications.
We have often heard customers asking whether or not they could build their own honey wagon. The answer of course is yes, but we strongly suggest you go with a reputable honey wagon manufacturer instead. Obviously, from a sales point of view Wastecorp designs and manufactures them and we are in business to sell them. But aside from that, customers must keep in mind that when you haul hundreds or even thousands of lbs of waste, the proper safety precautions must be taken. For example, there is heavy surge in the tank when breaking, so your trailer should be equipped with electric brakes and government approved lighting kits to safely come to a complete stop. Third, Wastecorp has sold thousands of honey wagons and has the ability to negotiate discounted pricing on all the proper components you need to safely haul your honey wagon. Chances are, you will get a cheaper system from buying your pump out from a honey wagon manufacturer than you can on buying the individual components yourself and paying retail price. Finally, you are spending thousands of dollars one way or the other on your new pump out system. Why not do it properly the first time?
